Three Friends Benefit

Saturday, January 14th, there will be a Memorial Concert at the Metro for Doug Meis, Michael Dahlquist and John Glick, three Chicago musicians who were killed this past summer. This is a great opportunity to celebrate (and/or meet) these guys through their music. There's a hell of a lot of power in a song--for memory, or moving forward, or bringing people together. It would be great to see all of you, have an after-Holiday Back-to-school drink, and introduce you to my friend Doug via his songs.

i don't know if i told you this - i think i hadn't been reading your blog that long about the time of the accident - but john glick is the brother-in-law of one of the girls i know through the knitting blogs. weird right. and not just know via internet, have met in person quite a few times. actually my pink target isaac mizrahi winter coat she bought for me and sent b/c the target online didn't have it and i was dying for it. and i think that was when i lived in new york and had no target. so there's some random trivia for you. i remember reading your blog and then reading her post and thinking wait a minute, i think this is the same accident.
