Readings, Yaaaay! Readings with wine, super-yaaaaayy!

I'll be reading this Sunday, Feb 12th at Webster Wine Bar at seven p.m. A little pre-2nd Story wind-up for investors, special guests, etc. but we're opening it to the public as well. Ten bucks at the door and another five if you want wine.

If you're unfamiliar with the process, 2nd Story is a storytelling event put on annually by the Serendipity Theater Company. You come to the bar with your friends, and four times in the night, the lights go down, a spot comes up on somebody and they tell you a story. It's a great time, and, if we do our job right, hopefully you'll leave telling your own stories. This year, the event runs for ten days the first two weeks of May along with a couple press nights in April. This gig on the 12th is a sort of Best-of Last Year type thing.

Hope to see you guys there, and if not, than perhaps in May!

Okay, is that extra $5 for the wine PER GLASS? Or do I pay an extra $5 and get to drink as much wine as I want?

And if I do that, meaning if I go ahead and drink as much wine as I want, is it going to be a pain in the butt for one of the bartenders to have to run over to the Jewel and pick up a few more bottles? Is it going to wreck your whole reading? Because I wouldn't want to wreck your whole reading just because I drank all the wine at the Webster Wine Bar.

What am I talking about? I can't drink that much wine. I'm just kidding around.

I wanna come! I'm going to try to escape from my house.

And I don't want to come just for the possibility of $5 all-I-can-drink wine. I'd actually like to come to see you read!

Well, and the wine.

Hee hee. I think it works like this: there's four stories, and before each, you get a pour of a different wine. Like a flight. Wineries donate the stuff on the cheap so they can get their fancy wares into the gullets of the audience. A really nifty night. Tgere is also a big ol BAR right there, which has MORE wine, TONS of wine, and vodka, and stuff, so if the wine you get to taste is gone in like ten seconds, there is plenty, plenty more. It's a wine BAR. They got like three hundred bottles on the menu. AND cheese! And the stories are not that bad, either. Hee hee. So, this is the warm-up for May's ten day gig, and I'm telling story that involves a DJ and NUMEROUS 80s songs.

I'd LOVE it if you could come!

i got snowed in to new york city. still here in fact! :(

Damn nephews and their birthday parties. I had to miss this. Whaa whaa whaa.

I'll see you tomorrow, though, at FW@lunch!

You were phenom that night. My friend that I brought was totally "is this going to be one of those creepy coffee house readings(which, often, I personally love) and I was like...um, no...this is gonna be better than meeting Jewel...which she didn't care too much for--but I WOULD! Anyway, YOU changed her perspective--which, to me, is just fricken awesome. Just awesome.

Feed me updates!
