It's appropriate that your comment about me voting involved discussion of drinking. My candidate lost, so I want to drink (although I am excited about the results overall).

(we are starting built-in bookshelves soon and your kitchen posts are the inspiration to my upcoming barrage of construction-related blog entries!)
Doing those posts was the best way to keep track of the before and after. Otherwise, I'd have a lot of digital pictures and nothing to go along with them, least of all the crap going through my head at the time.
If I look at the pictures now, I think, wow, my kitchen looked like crap and now it doesn't. And I kind of conveniently forget what a colossal pain in the ass it was.
